My tribute

Miss Midd to her collegues Gerry to her friends ( she always said that she felt she was in trouble if she was called Geraldine) and Auntie Gerry to me. She was a fiercely independent lady some would even say stubborn, but I would say strong, she never wanted to be a nucience to anyone and if I or my partner Graham offered to do anything for her she always said oh I am a nucience , she of course never was. Auntie Gerry loved music and singing with the choir at central Church, and with the local operatic society, in latter years she had to give the choir up as her arthritis was bad and she could not stand for the whole service , saying if a job was worth doing it was worth doing properly. She was a very kind person always trying to help anyone if she could, but she found it very difficult to accept help herself.Must just say that her other passion was a natter with friends at the printers Elbow where she enjoyed her half of real ale. She loved all animals but cats in particular, always asking after mine and buying him treats , she even fed the seagulls that came to her flat , always worrying if they did not appear one day. You will all have your special memories of Auntie Gerry, but to me she was more than an Aunt , she was my God Mother and friend to ,always ready with friendly advise even if it was not always what I wanted to hear. Sleep well lovely lady. God Bless xx
